About the Band

Camberley and District Silver Band was formed in 1960 and is a thriving brass band with around 20 players of all ages.

We were previously known as Charles Church Camberley Band following very generous sponsorship from Charles Church Developments Ltd but that association concluded and we reverted to our original name.

To find out more about the history of the band, please delve into the history section of our site.

Engagements and membership

The band plays regularly in the community, over the summer at bandstands, for Remembrance services in November and for Christmas carol services, concerts and carolling. We also have social events for members.

We rehearse every Friday night at St. Peter’s Church Hall in Frimley.

If you are interested in a new band to play with then please visit our page about joining the band.

In the early 1970s the band introduced a junior band for the growing number of youngsters taking up brass instruments in local schools. Over the years, many young people across Surrey Heath and beyond have benefited from this opportunity to gain experience playing in a small group before going on to join the main band. At the moment the training band is paused, but we are welcoming players to our main band.
